Chad Johnson has over (19) years of experience in the Construction, Construction Management, Design-Build, Architectural Design and Renovation in many types of commercial structures and facilities. A few notable projects are, a $7.5 million, Three overlapping Phase Project for Google Adwords Facility in Ann Arbor and A $12 million complete conversation of a Ramada to a Holiday Inn & Suites at the Atlanta Airport. Chad’s strengths are Contract Administration and Budget control. He has maintained the project quality within tight budget parameters on a number of fast and complext projects. The client’s Chad has worked with always comment positively on his ability to clearly communicate in a manner that they can understand while providing the information they need in a timely manner to monitor their project status and budget. Chad has a thorough working knowledge of building codes and regulations include the International Building Code (IBC 2009), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Michigan Barrier Free Code and the Michigan Rehabilitation Code for Existing Buildings. Chad studied Architecture at Ferris State University before transferring to Eastern Michigan University for Construction Management. Chad holds Commercial Contractors Licenses in Louisiana, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Arkansas.

Eric Pfefferle will be handling on billing and contracted related activities during the project. Eric works with the Project Manager to prepare standard AIA contracts from the subcontractor proposals. Eric will be receiving all requests for payment from subcontractors and collecting all the necessary waivers documenting payments to them. Eric assembles all the project close-out and warranty information at the end of a project. Eric is a licensed CPA and is currently his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Toledo.

Mr. Biggar began his professional career by earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Architecture at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. He graduated third in his architecture class magna cumme laude in 1987. Upon graduation, Mr. Biggar pursued a Master’s of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He graduated with honors in 1989.
Upon graduation, Mr. Biggar moved to New Haven, Connecticut to join the international architecture of Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates. While at Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates Mr. Biggar worked on the headquarters for many Fortune 500 companies including Corning Glass, Borland Software and Merck Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Biggar also worked on international competitions including the United States Embassy and the Sony European Headquarters in Berlin, Germany and the urban developmentproject “Pontiac Marina” in Singapore which included hotels, office and retail projects. While at Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates Mr. Biggar earned his architecture license in 1991. Mr. Biggar went on to become licensed in eight states nationwide.
In 1996, Mr. Biggar had an opportunity to be a partner in the recently formed architectural firm, studiozONE, llc. studiozONE, llc focused on innovative design in the urban environment of Detroit. In 2001, studiozONE, llc won an AIA Detroit award for the Huntington Woods Community Center. Mr. Biggar led studiozONE’s efforts on historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of many of Detroit’s historic buildings. Historic buildings Mr. Biggar worked on including the Harmonie Club Building, the Iodent Building, the Library Lofts Building and Research Lofts.

In 2001, Mr. Biggar was co-developer for the former Crescent Brass & Pin Company factory at 5766 Trumbull, in Detroit, Michigan. The building was purchased with the business intention of converting the former factory into high-end residential lofts and this was completed in 2010.

Among the many activities Mr. Bigger helped facilitate the properties Brownfield designation, the addition of the property to the Secretary of the Interior’s National Registry for Historic Buildings and the purchasing of the City of Detroit’s adjacent land for green space for the project. Research Lofts was the best selling loft project in the City of Detroit from 2006-2008 and was named in Loft Magazine’s top five loft cities.

Mr. Biggar has continued work on historic adaptive reuse projects including the Detroit Life Building renovation, 200-200 W. Michigan Lofts, the Thompson Block historic conversion and the renovation and addition to the U.S. Customs & Border facilities at the Detroit Windsor Tunnel Port.

John Kosowski is our team’s field superintendent with the most varied experience. John is a licensed electrician and spent almost (20) years with the City of Detroit Public Lighting Department (PLD). He rose through the ranks of PLD to become assistant director of PLD and during the Archer administration he was Interim Director of the Department reporting directly to Mayor Archer. He managed the city’s preparation for Y2K. Besides superintendent duties, John handles all the speciality electrical and lighting project that IBG becomes involved with. John has many safety certifications and received many awards throughout his career.

Nick Pizialli is our most experienced and seasoned restoration superintendent with over (14) years of hands on experience and leadership. Nick’s leadership style and “can solve any problem and challenge” attitude are a perfect fit for the highly intensive quality requirements of historic and high-end office renovations. Nick has extensive experience dealing with the unique challenges working at the Detroit Zoo including keeping visitors and animals safe while working within the tight budget constraints of the zoo’s renovation programs. Nick led the many faceted team for the historic renovation of the Grand Army of the Republic Building in downtown Detroit. The Phase I Building envelope work he supervised included the restoration of (136) historic windows, removal and replacement of a slate roof and the cleaning and repair of all the historic masonry on the building. He supervised the very difficult restoration of the “Grand Entrance” to the G.A.R. building as well as the new historic wood storefronts. Nick holds a OSHA 30 hour safety certificate.
